Descripción

The Epson 5113 Second Locked Printhead is a more advanced version of Epson printheads with secondary encryption designed to prevent unauthorized use and protect Epson’s market share. The second locked printhead uses a stringent encryption algorithm, making it essentially impossible to crack fully. Some universal printer manufacturers use a compromise method allowing only half of the nozzles (4 out of 8 rows) to function effectively, which reduces printing speed and ink output by half and shortens printhead life significantly—down to about one-quarter compared to original.

You can identify a second locked Epson 5113 printhead by the letters under the QR code on the printhead cover, with "GRH" indicating a locked printhead, versus letters like G, GR, GH, or H for unlocked ones. These locked printheads are mostly used in eco-solvent printers.

Epson 5113 Second Locked Printhead Key details:

  • Model: Epson 5113 second locked original printhead

  • Place of origin: Japan

  • Ink colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Light Cyan, Light Magenta

  • Use: China inkjet printers and eco solvent printers

  • The second locked mechanism reduces speed and ink output if partially used due to the inability to fully crack the encryption

  • Increased driving voltage and jetting frequency needed when using compromised operation method, which shortens printhead lifespan

  • The printhead has 8 nozzle rows with 180 nozzles per row, totaling 1440 nozzles

  • It supports stable, high quality, and cost-effective printing but with the risk of shorter life if hacked or used improperly

These Epson 5113 Second Locked Printhead are largely discontinued and often replaced by Epson 4720 printheads in sublimation printers, although the 5113 still holds good compatibility and performance where used
