The Toshiba CF1XL Printhead is an industrial, large drop-volume piezo inkjet printhead from Toshiba TEC. It features a native drop size of 36 pL and jets volumes up to 180 pL with 6 levels of grayscale. It uses a through-channel fluid ink recirculation system for high reliability in ceramic, signage, and industrial packaging applications.

Compatible printer models
Because the Toshiba CF1XL is a highly specialised industrial component, it is not used in standard desktop printers. Instead, it is natively integrated into large-format single-pass systems, high-speed industrial packaging units, and industrial ceramic printing systems.
- EFI Cretaprint: Fits digital ceramic tile printers (C3, C4, and single-pass systems).
- Industrial Systems: Fits high-speed corrugated packaging lines and custom UV flatbed printers.
- Industrial Textile & UV Flatbed Lines: Custom setups utilizing high-gap, thick-fluid recirculation systems for complex material surfaces.
Important Notice
To prevent costly buyer return requests, it is critical to explicitly state what this head does NOT fit:
Do not buy this printhead if you own any of the machines listed below. It looks identical on the outside, but the internal electronics are totally different and will not work.
- NOT for standard Toshiba CE4 / CA4 printers: This will NOT replace a Toshiba CE4M or CA4 printhead. The physical dimensions, electronics, and drop sizes are completely different.
- NOT for fine-detail graphics (CF1 Standard): This is the XL (Extra Large) high-volume version (36 pL–180 pL). It cannot replace the standard Toshiba CF1 (6 pL–42 pL) or CF1L (64 pL–90 pL) unless your machine firmware, settings, and ink delivery systems are specifically reconfigured for it.
- NOT for Mimaki UJF-7151 Plus: This machine uses the specialized CF1B model. The CF1XL is not a drop-in replacement for it.
- NOT for standard desktop or eco-solvent plotters: This is a heavy, industrial-grade unit. It is completely incompatible with standard commercial large-format plotters from brands like Roland, Mutoh, or Epson.
- NOT for water-based or textile inks: This head is built specifically to handle thick, fast-settling UV-curing, oil-based, and ceramic inks. It should not be used with standard water-based dye or pigment inks.

- Packaging: Factory sealed in original Toshiba packaging
- Handling: Do not open the printhead package until you are ready to install. Avoid touching the nozzle plate or electrical contacts. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Returns
- Return Window: Returns accepted within 14 / 30 days of delivery.
- Condition for Return: Item must be unused, unopened, and in original factory-sealed packaging. Once the printhead packaging is opened or the head is installed, it cannot be returned unless it is proven to be dead on arrival (DOA) and not damaged by improper handling or installation.
- Return Shipping: Buyer pays return shipping unless the item is not as described or is DOA and confirmed by us.
- Refund: Refund issued for the item price once the returned item is received and inspected. Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
Please contact us before initiating a return so we can provide instructions and, if applicable, an RMA number.
Warranty
- Seller Warranty: This item is sold as new, factory sealed. We do not provide an additional seller warranty beyond the return policy described above.
- Manufacturer Warranty: Any manufacturer warranty is subject to Toshiba’s policies and may require proof of purchase from an authorized distributor. We are an authorized Toshiba Distributor - please message us if you have specific warranty questions.
- DOA Policy: If the printhead is confirmed dead on arrival (no electrical shorts caused by the user, proper installation, and compatible electronics), we will replace or refund according to our return policy. Damage caused by incorrect installation, incompatible electronics, wrong ink, static discharge, or physical damage is not covered.
