Description

The Spectra Polaris PQ-512/15 AAA is a 512-nozzle industrial piezo printhead with a 15 picoliter native drop size, designed for high-resolution production printing up to 1000 dpi. It supports UV, solvent, and aqueous inks, and is a strong fit when you need fast firing, flexible ink compatibility, and easy field service.

Our customer quick evaluation

  •     Nozzles: 512 independent addressable nozzles.
  •     Drop size: 15 pl native, adjustable with VersaDrop up to 30 pl.
  •     Resolution: 200 dpi single-color, 100 dpi two-color native spacing, with output up to 1000 dpi depending on system design.
  •     Ink compatibility: UV-curable, solvent, and aqueous.
  •     Operating window: Jetting fluids in the 8 to 20 cP range, operation up to 60°C.
  •     Speed: Fire frequency exceeds 50 kHz in the Fujifilm sheet, while other distributor listings cite 40 kHz at 15 pl and 25 kHz at 30 pl.
  •     Serviceability: Each 256-channel module can be replaced and registered in the field without special tools.
  •     Warranty: Manufacture warrany.

When it makes sense

This head is a good option if you want a proven industrial printhead for labels, packaging, decorative printing, or other production systems needing a balance of resolution and throughput. Its biggest strengths are ink flexibility, modular maintenance, and a relatively fine native drop size for detailed work.

Customer to verify before buying

  •     Confirm your printer architecture matches the single-color or two-color layout you plan to run.
  •     Check ink viscosity at actual jetting temperature, because the target range is 8 to 20 cP.
  •     Confirm the firing frequency you need, because published figures vary by source and drop size.
  •     Make sure your carriage, fluidics, and electronics are built for the Polaris interface and dual-port module setup.

If you are choosing mainly for image detail, the PQ-512/15 AAA is usually the safer pick. If your job favors heavier ink laydown or bigger droplets, one of the larger-drop Polaris variants may be more suitable.

A practical example: for a label or packaging line that needs sharper text, smaller dots, and broad ink compatibility, the PQ-512/15 AAA is typically the most balanced choice. For coarse graphics or higher-coverage marking, a larger-drop head can be the better fit.
