Description

The Ricoh GEN4L 15PL Printhead (Hose barb) - MH2620 is suitable for a range of oil, water, solvent and UV printers, including the original D.Gen Teleios Grande, D.Gen Teleios (TJ-2600) and Teleios (TJ-3333). This printhead has an integrated heater and thermistor. This is Ricoh original printhead and it is covered by a manufacturer warranty.

Product overview

  •     What is the MH2620 (GEN4L) printhead? The MH2620 (marketed as Ricoh GEN4L 15PL) is a metal industrial piezo inkjet printhead with nominal 15 pL native drop volume and multi‑drop capability (15–45 pL) designed for oil, water, solvent and UV inks; it includes an integrated heater and thermistor and supports jetting at frequencies up to ~30 kHz depending on drop size and ink type.
  •     Physical size and nozzles: Typical dimensions are about 120 × 13.2 × 75.5 mm (excluding cable) with 2 × 192 nozzles (384 nozzles total) and nozzle pitch ≈ 0.1693 mm.

Compatibility and inks

  •     Which ink types work? The head is designed to support UV, solvent, aqueous and many oil-based inks and can jet higher-viscosity fluids by heating the ink path to as high as about 80°C; Ricoh recommends jetting/immersion compatibility tests for specific inks.
  •     Printer compatibility: The MH2620 is commonly used in many industrial printers (examples listed by suppliers), but it is not compatible with certain newer GEN5-based platforms (check your printer model and firmware before purchase).

Performance and operating ranges

  •     Drop sizes and frequencies: Native 15 pL with multi‑drop (15–45 pL) capability; approximate jetting frequencies: 15 pL up to 30 kHz, 30 pL ~20 kHz, 45 pL ~14 kHz (actual limits depend on ink and system).
  •     Temperature/viscosity guidance: Integrated heating/thermistor allows operation up to ~80°C and supports inks in a typical viscosity window noted by Ricoh (around 11–13 mPa·s typical ranges cited) with recommended surface tension ranges ~28–35 mN/m.

Installation and plumbing

  •     Ink port options: Units are sold with standard hose‑barb ports, and some sellers offer optional configurations (single or dual ink ports for 1 or 2 colors) — verify port type before installation.
  •     Mechanical/alignment notes: There are front (standard) and back (optional) alignment pin directions; check the datasheet mechanical drawings for mounting hole positions and cabling length (cable-included total length ~256 mm).

Maintenance and lifetime

  •     Expected life: Manufacturer and reseller listings commonly specify long life (example: ~100 billion actuations per nozzle quoted by some sellers) but actual lifetime depends on ink chemistry, filtration, and operating conditions.
  •     Routine care: Use recommended filtration, maintain correct ink temperatures, avoid chemical incompatibilities, purge and cap per your printer vendor guidance, and test jetting regularly to detect nozzle degradation early.

Common troubleshooting

  •     Nozzle drop-out/clogs: Start with standard jetting checks — power and heater present, proper ink supply and pressure, purge cycles, and check that ink temperature is within recommended range; perform nozzle checks and waveform tuning per your printer controller instructions.
  •     Unstable jetting or satellite drops: Verify ink viscosity and surface tension (adjust temperature or additives if allowed), confirm waveform settings and operating frequency, and ensure the printhead heater and thermistor are functioning.
  •     Electrical faults: Inspect cable, connector continuity, and controller signals; avoid exposing the actuator section to conductive fluids (Ricoh isolates ink from the piezo actuator, but system plumbing must still be correct).

Ordering and part notes

  •     Genuine vs aftermarket: We sell genuine Ricoh MH2620 GEN4L 15PL printheads (often labeled MH2620 or GEN4L 15PL) and offer warranty; confirm origin and compatibility with your printer model before purchase.
  •     Part numbers and variants: Look for MH2620 as the 15–45 pL model; MH2820 is the related larger-drop variant (27–54 pL). Also verify if you need hose‑barb ink ports or other port configurations.
